The FBI and major media outlets yesterday trumpeted the agency’s latest counterterrorism triumph: the arrest of three Brooklyn men, ages 19 to 30, on charges of conspiring to travel to Syria to fight for ISIS (photo of joint FBI/NYPD press conference, above). Fascism is preserved as history, as flickering footage of goose-stepping blackshirts, their criminality terrible and clear. Members of the Dr. Dhafir Support Committee gave out post cards on Marshall Street in Syracuse, New York, today between noon and 2 p.m. to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the arrest and incarceration of Dr. Rafil Dhafir, and the interrogation of 150 local Muslim families. It was a more satisfying endeavor than creating a spectacle for the media as we were able to reach people directly.  (more…)
