Commemorating Dr. Dhafir’s Arrest: Giving Out Post Cards on Marshall Street, Syracuse, New York

Members of the Dr. Dhafir Support Committee gave out post cards on Marshall Street in Syracuse, New York, today between noon and 2 p.m. to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the arrest and incarceration of Dr. Rafil Dhafir, and the interrogation of 150 local Muslim families. It was a more satisfying endeavor than creating a spectacle for the media as we were able to reach people directly.
We are ever hopeful that Dr. Dhafir will finally get a measure of justice from the legal system and be released soon. However, if he is still imprisoned this time next year, we plan to have post cards given out in other places across this country and abroad.
Dr. Dhafir’s lawyer, retired Lieutenant Commander of the General’s Corp, Charles Swift, submitted a Memorandum in support of a 2255 Habeaus Corpus Petition on February 2nd, 2015, with the government response due on March 2nd, 2015.
