Since the events of September 11, 2001, the government has raided and closed down six major Muslim charities and many smaller Muslim charities, accusing each of funding terrorism. In each case, alleged “guilt by association” meant that the charities’ assets were frozen and their principals arrested. (more…)

The Dr. Dhafir Support Committee would like to draw your attention to the continuing disconnectedness in your coverage of the Dr. Rafil Dhafir and Help the Needy (HTN) case. Although a few of your editorials have challenged the government subterfuge in this case, your paper has never used this editorial insight as an impetus to examine the many conflicting facts the government has presented to the media. Ed Griffin-Nolan’s April 18th What’s Shakin’ coverage of Islamic charity and the Dhafir/Help the Needy case was a missed opportunity to correct rather than reinforce past government misinformation about this case. (more…)

The government has successfully overturned an appeal court decision to grant Dr. Dhafir transcripts at the expense of the court. Transcipts are an essential part of an appeal process and will cost in the region of $22,000; please help us achieve justice by attending this event.

I will be speaking at a town hall meeting in Plano, Texas, on Friday, April 6th, at the invitation of the Muslim Legal Fund of America (a civil and legal organization similar to the ACLU,, LULAC, and NAACP). The meeting will be held at the Plano Center, 2000 East Spring Creek, at Jupiter Road, Plano, Texas. (more…)

The United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights give equal protection under the law and in order to defend this freedom it must be extend to all regardless of race or religion. While in office former Attorney General John Ashcroft disregarded this and engaged in inflammatory publicity in cases of Muslim and Arab defendants in the post 9/11 period. (more…)
