Osameh Al Wahaidy was sentenced yesterday for violating U.N. Sanctions and sending aid to starving Iraqi people. Judge Norman Mordue sentenced Al Wahaidyto 2 years probation. He also ordered him to pay a fine of $5,000 and to perform 100 hours of community service.
After the proceedings Osameh Al Wahaidy and his lawyer where interviewed by local TV news people. The reporter from Channel 10 asked Al Wahaidy about the way in which the Help the Needy case has been linked by the government to terrorism. This question is very telling in that it puts the burden on the defendants of Help the Needy. It’s unfortunate that none of the local media has made any attempt at investigative journalism in this case, especially when there are so many things that do not add up.

my son pled guilty to a crime that would have givin him 5 years, after the sentencing faze,he was given 6.5 years more to make a total of 11.5 yrs. this is the way the federal law is applied. the supreme court ruled that the sixth amendmentis violated the defendants rights but the prosecutors continue to push for longer sentencing, they will do the the same at dr Dhafir sentencing that did to my son. federal law is not fair you have no way to protest the law and how it is used against the person.
