John Pilger’s article on Dr. Dhafir was published by the Post-Standard in Sunday’s issue on The Readers’ Page. Thank you to the Post-Standard for giving the Syracuse public a chance to see a glimmer of the other side of this case: (more…)

The Post-Standard published John Pilger’s article today in the “To the editor”
section.  Although it’s disappointing that the full article wasn’t published, I’m still very grateful and so wrote a thank you to the editorial board.  I’ve posted a couple of comments after the letter on the Post-Standard site and urge others to do so here

Please write to the Post-Standard and ask that, in the interest of fairness and justice, it publish veteran journalist, and documentary film maker, John Pilger’s recent article on Dr. Rafil Dhafir’s case, The end of justice in America: John Pilger has waived his fee and so no syndication payment is required.

A recent email on behalf of the Dr. Dhafir Support Committee has gone unanswered; with your help we hope the Post-Standard will publish the article.  Write to: Stan Linhorst, Senior Managing Editor: slinhorst@syracuse.com with copies to: Mike Connor, Executive Editor: mconnor@syracuse.com, Janis Barth: Managing, Editor: jbarth@syracuse.com, Rich Sullivan, Managing Editor: rsullivan@syracuse.com

Please be courteous in your correspondence; thank you on behalf of the Dr. Dhafir Support Committee.

John Pilger has very kindly offered to waive any fee for republishing the article, provided you print it exactly as it’s printed in the New Statesman.  The Post Standard’s coverage of this case has never given the Syracuse public an opportunity to view the case from any other point of view than the government’s and publishing this article would be a perfect opportunity to redress some of the balance.
