Today Dr. Dhafir was resentenced to 22 years (same sentence as before).  The fact that Dr. Dhafir remains unrepentant for sending food and medicine to starving Iraq civilians in violation of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) continues to weigh heavily against him.  I plan a fuller explanation of what happened in court today later, in the meantime people can read my latest article on the case here.

Dr. Dhafir will be resentenced at the James Hanley Federal Building in Syracuse, New York on Friday, February 3rd 2012, at 11 a.m. Judge Mordue’s courtroom is on the 12th floor and you will need a picture ID to enter the building.  Dr. Dhafir will not be present as he is too ill to travel.  A decision will be given at this time.  As a tribute to Dr. Dhafir, please help us fill the courtroom.
