Yesterday morning, Dr. Sami Al-Arian was transported by immigration agents to the Hampton Roads Regional Jail in Portsmouth, Virginia. Since arriving at the facility, he has been subjected to numerous, shocking abuses, even worse than those he experienced at a detention center in Maryland. (more…)

The government submitted its brief in response to the appeal brief submitted by Dr. Dhafir’s lawyers, Peter Goldberger and Barry Boss, on Wednesday, April 8th, 2008. Dr. Dhafir’s lawyers have a right to reply within two weeks (or longer if granted by the court). A few months after this reply is submitted, the defense and prosecution will be invited to present oral arguments before a panel of 3 judges. ( more about the appeal…)
